ABOUT OZtalk 2008 NORTH AMERICA

What is OZtalk?
In 1990, recognizing the need to provide regular training to front-line sales agents, several US-based state tourism representatives got together to develop the first OZtalk. The program’s objective was to provide in-depth destination and product training for those North American wholesale reservation sales staff, actively promoting and selling Australia.

Today, OZtalk North America enters into its 18th year of operation. It has grown significantly to become the premier North American trade event for the Australian travel industry. The event now operates in two key locations of East Coast and West Coast in order to service the growing demands of the North American wholesale industry.

The key objectives of OZtalk North America 2008 are to:
  • Educate front-line wholesale reservations staff about Australia
  • Increase awareness of a wide range of Australian tourism products
  • Increase selling opportunities for Australian product in the North American region
  • Create new business opportunities

On average 250 wholesale front line reservations and sales staff from North American based South Pacific wholesalers attend. Wholesalers regard OZtalk as one of the most valuable tools for staff training; some even make attendance mandatory. OZtalk invites and strongly encourages participation from wholesale staff from all areas of the United States and Canada.

As an Australian Product Supplier (Seller) you will complete a series of 12 minute presentations to wholesale reservations sales staff, managers, owners and product planners from across the region. Furthermore, over the weekend after the business is done, there are many opportunities for you to connect with, bond and build your relationship with the sales and product staff of these key wholesalers.
